Whether you’re prepping for the Tour de France, about to take on your first crit, or just like to have the occasional scenic weekend group ride, appropriate clothing is a must have. It’s all well and good to have the flashiest, the most expensive, the most appealing cycling apparel - but all the money in the world won’t guarantee the right clothing. You need to choose what's right for you.
The most important functions of a cycling Jersey are:
- to regulate your temperature by drawing sweat away from the skin
- to reduce drag from the wind and increase your efficiency
- to keep you comfortable over short or long rides
- to protect you from the sun
Whilst some riders tend to prioritise speed, other cyclists prefer a comfortable, temperature regulating top with a relaxed fit.
Relaxed fit: The Performance Cycle Jersey (rrp $99.99)
Designed to be comfortable and enhance your riding experience, these jerseys come with pockets and a full length zip and are also moisture wicking and anti bacteria.
Made from 97% Recycled COOLMAX® EcoMade polyester fabric with UPF50+ sun protection, these jersey’s will keep you cooler, protect you from the sun, and allow you to carry gear conveniently in the three decent sized pockets on the back.
Perfect for your everyday casual riding needs! Our new Spring jersey designs also come with the option of a short or long sleeve. Check out our Men's and Women's styles.
Aero fit: The Optimise Cycle Jersey (rrp $144.99)
Every aspect of this jersey has been designed for aerodynamic performance. It’s developed for and tested by our pro and elite state teams including the Australian Cycling Academy, Cycling Qld, NSWIS, Cycling NSW, and Cycling SA.
We use two technical light-weight materials, both with excellent stretch profiles, to achieve an aerodynamic fit. The design also features mesh side panels from the waist all the way up under the arms to increase your thermoregulation. The Lite-Flex fabric is 86% COOLMAX® yarns and 14% spandex to provide optimum moisture wicking and a firm stretch while allowing for freedom of movement.
Both fabrics are breathable, anti-microbial and moisture wicking. To finish it off, there’s a secured fit, using silicone elastic on the hips, and a low race profile collar with a zip cover that maximises performance without sacrificing comfort.
Not only are these jerseys designs for peak performance, but they also look incredible. Check out our Men's and Women's styles Spring Range styles.
Jersey Comparison
Below, you can see the major differences in the two styles of Jersey's and also some of the improvements we've made on the patterns in this round of manufacturing after consulting with our customers and pro teams.
Collar Design
Optimise: Race collar.
Performance: Classic collar.

Back Design
Optimise: Gripper has moved to the inside so the design or colour goes all the way to the hem.
Performance: Had been made a bit longer so it doesn’t ride up when riding
Side Design
Optimise: Side panel is a lighter single piece fabric – so no hem under arm.
Performance: Uses the same fabric all over with a classic sleeve cut.

Sleeve Design
Optimise: Sleeve hem has been adjusted so it is finished with fitted hem with no gripper (based on feedback from the Elite teams).
Performance: Sleeve is longer for better sun protection and in style with current trends.
