"We develop our own unique patterns based on research and testing and source the best fabrics from all over the world to construct garments with an edge."
Take the opportunity to refresh your routine and hit the road again this spring. With a new kit and a strong routine, it’s a great time to make your training count for the season ahead.
What better way to peddle into a new season than by dressing for the ever changing Australian weather? The key to success is the right fabrics and fit.
Let’s have a look at how you can choose the right spring cycling apparel for your training and how our Australian made designs help you to perform at your best every single time.
Know Your Fabrics with Breathability, Aerodynamics and Comfort
Spring conditions in Australia call for materials that help regulate your body temperature and wick away moisture quickly. Here at SCODY, we specifically choose fabrics to fulfil optimal functionality on the bike.
We’ve put together a handy comparison chart to help you match the right fabrics to your ride:

SCODY Tip: Using a layered approach allows you to add or remove layers as the conditions change. Lightweight jerseys, arm warmers and a windproof gilet are all staples that can easily pack into your rear pocket!
Finding the Right Fit
When you’re purchasing your cycling kit in Australia, it’s good to aim for a performance fit. You want to reduce drag whilst remaining flexible enough for optimal movement and ventilation.
Our men’s and women’s cycling ranges are all tailored using anatomical patterning, so our kit follows your riding posture, therefore eliminating bunching or discomfort.
We’ve got a handy fit guide to help you find the perfect size in our products. Measure your chest, waist and hips using our guide and you’ll be able to compare them to our size chart to get the best fit possible. Of course, if you’re near us in Brisbane, pop into our store and try on some garments to see which ones you prefer!
All of our SCODY jerseys and bibs are designed using premium fabrics and finishes like:
●Aero shaping
●Moisture wicking abilities
●Silicone grippers
●Flatlock stitching
Build Your Spring Layering Wardrobe
When you are building your spring cycling kit, you should start with some of our SCODY favourites like:
●Lightweight jerseys with ventilated side panels to improve airflow and comfort.
●Bibs or shorts with supportive chamois and compressive Lycra.
●Cycling gloves to help improve your grip whilst protecting you from UV and road vibration.
●Wind vests for those chilly mornings or breezy descents.
SCODY Tip: When the sun is at its strongest, why not grab some sun sleeves? They’re made from UPF rated fabrics for extended UV protection without the risk of overheating.

Caring for Your Kit
To make the most of your kit from SCODY, it’s important to take great care of it. If you want your SCODY kit to last season after season, simply:
- Wash with cold water and avoid using fabric softeners or harsh detergents.
- Air dry flat and keep away from direct sunlight.
- Don’t be tempted to tumble dry your kit as this can affect elasticity and print quality.
The 4 Step Fit Check
Next time you’re preparing for a ride, take our 4 step fit check to see how your kit sits on your body.
- Stand tall. Your jersey needs to feel snug but not restrictive when standing upright.
- Try your riding posture and feel for pulling at the shoulders or bunching at the waist. These can be extremely uncomfortable on long rides!
- Can you move freely? You should easily be able to reach your handlebars without the fabrics stretching uncomfortably.
- The bottom of your jersey, bibs and even sun sleeves should stay in place throughout your fit check. If they move, they’re either too big or the grippers are dirty!
Still not sure? Visit our size guide to see if you’re wearing the correct size for your measurements.
