CUSTOM CYCLING JERSEYS

Coordinated and unified cycling jerseys for men or women are an excellent investment for any club, organization, or team. Custom cycling jerseys can showcase the brand and identity of cycling teams and clubs.  Let’s discuss the benefits of custom cycling jerseys for teams and clubs.

Womens racing project

TEAM IDENTITY AND TEAM BUILDING

  •         Custom cycling jerseys create a sense of identity for a team or club and a sense of belonging for the individual cyclists.
  •         Team members display their pride in their team and stand out from competitors.
  •         Custom cycling jerseys can feature team logos, colours, and designs to reinforce the team's brand.
  •         The unified look helps to promote a positive team culture.

ADVERTISING

  •         Custom cycling jerseys provide an opportunity to advertise a team or club.
  •         The team's logo and colours are prominently displayed on the jersey, helping to raise awareness and promote the brand.
  •         Sponsors can also display their logos on the jersey, exposing them to a broader audience.
  •         Custom cycling jerseys can increase the visibility and recognition of the team or club among fans, colleagues, and the broader cycling community.
  •         Advertising through custom cycling jerseys can be an effective and cost-efficient way to promote a brand.

PROFESSIONALISM

  •         Custom cycling jerseys can make the team look more professional while competing.
  •         A team wearing a custom cycling jersey appears more put-together than one wearing mismatched clothing.
  •         Custom cycling jerseys can create a cohesive and polished image for the team or club.
  •         Custom cycling jerseys can give the team a competitive edge by improving their visibility and creating a sense of team unity.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT CYCLE JERSEY FOR YOUR TEAM

  •          All teams are different, and all teams have different athletes in them. You need to choose a style of jersey that fits most of the bike riders and is suitable for the conditions.
  •          The main choice is the fit of the jersey. If the team is competitive the cyclists will typically prefer a body-hugging jersey made with a stretch fabric that combines polyester and spandex yarns. If the team is made up of recreational cyclists, the riders will feel more comfortable in a relaxed fit jersey. Body skimming rather than body hugging.
  •          If the conditions are cold, you may choose a bike jersey made from heavier fabrics and if conditions are hot you may choose a cycle jersey made from light weight fabrics.
  •          If sun protection is important to you then a summer weight long sleeve jersey may be better. You could also add sun sleeves to the uniform.

THE COMPLETE LOOK (vests, socks, accessories)

There is nothing better than seeing a team of cyclists in completely coordinated cycling kit. The same branding from head to toe. If you want to get maximum benefit from custom cycle clothing, then complete the look.

CYCLING SHORTS OR KNICKS AND BIB SHORTS

Cycling shorts are commonly referred to as knicks and the bib and brace style of cycling short is commonly referred to as bibs or bib knicks.

Coordinated cycling jerseys and cycling shorts are the base building block for your cycling team.

Cycling shorts are specialist products and the pad or chamois is critical for the comfort of the rider.

CYCLING WIND VEST OR GILET

If your team is riding in the early morning or evening a wind vest can be a great addition to the team cycling uniform. The wind vest, sometimes referred to a s gilet, blocks the breeze keeping the rider warm and can be removed as the day warms up and stored in the cycle jersey pocket.

THERMAL ARM WARMERS, LEG WARMERS, KNEE WARMERS

IF your cycling team are riding in cooler conditions coordinated thermal arm warmers, leg warmers or knee warmers are a great addition to the team uniform.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN CUSTOM CLOTHING

Cycle clothing is a specialist field and the materials, accessories and trims used are specialist materials. There are many companies who make cycle jerseys who don’t understand the requirements. Choose a cycling specialist and you can be assured that the thermal regulation properties of the cycling garment will wick sweat and regulate your body temperature as it should.

There are some key things in selecting a custom clothing manufacturer and these are discussed below.

DESIGN

Your chosen manufacturer should have a strong inhouse design team who specialise in cycling garments so that they can help you develop an on-trend design to display your brand. Designers familiar with cycling garments understand that some words on cycling uniforms go left to right and others right to left.

GENDER

Are gender specific garments available. Women will feel more comfortable in a female specific cycling garment. If you have juniors in your team, then junior specific styles are important and if the juniors are as competitive as adults they need the same quality.

LEAD TIME AND MOQ

Will the minimum order quantity suit your team? How long will it take to get your garments and how reliable is the delivery estimate.

FABRIC

The fabrics used are critical to the fit and function of the garment. Moisture management properties inherent in the yarn are better than moisture management by chemical processes. Anti-microbial properties in the fabric promote a longer life and help to minimise odour. Garments need to stretch to be comfortable and even the 100% polyester fabrics require some mechanical stretch.

SUSTAINABILITY

Recycled yarns are important, but it goes deeper than that. Does the manufacturer promote sustainable sourcing and manufacture? How much plastic is used in their processes? How is power generated? How is waste treated? How much CO2 is generated through transport?
