As part of the Australian Junior Triathlon Series last season, the first three males and females in the overall point score were awarded the Triathlon Australia Junior Bursary.
The bursary, totalling $10,000, combines a prize purse to assist with international racing opportunities and a product sponsorship from SCODY.
Charlotte Derbyshire (Triathlon South Australia) was the winner of the Junior Female bursary, with Romy Wolstencroft (Triathlon Queensland) and Emily Jamgotchian (Triathlon New South Wales) in second and third respectively.
Luke Schofield won the male bursary along with twin brother Jayden in second and Triathlon New South Wales teammate, Lorcan Redmond the third recipient.
"It is a privilege to have the Scody bursary financially assist my international travels for the next several months as I plan to race in events on the world stage. It will inevitably bridge the gap in allowing me to achieve my future goals and endeavours in the sport of Triathlon," said winner Luke Schofield.
"The bursary provided by Scody for the 2018/19 season will provide me with ample support; enabling me to explore my passion of travelling around the world, pursuing the adrenaline of racing triathlon. This bursary will allow me to gain more experience internationally, strengthening my love for the sport," said Wolstencroft.
“Training and racing is the easy part of triathlon. The most challenging, strenuous and time-consuming factor when it comes to performance is logistical preparation a travel. The Scody Bursary will assist in making this process a whole lot easier,” said Lorcan Redmond.
