Traction Mentor Team Show Off Their New SCODY Cycle Jerseys
TRACTION is a not-for-profit, community-focused program that delivers tangible benefits for vulnerable young people and their families through hands-on, action-based education programs. Since 2015 TRACTION has directly helped over 750 vulnerable young people change their pathway toward a better future.
TRACTION's flagship Bicycle Build program provides the opportunity for participants to get hands-on experience in bicycle building, repair, restoration, and maintenance. They either restore bicycles donated by the community or build new bikes from scratch, create their own custom bike designs and keep the bicycles they build.
TRACTION mentors empower participants to develop practical and social skills in a workplace-like environment where they emerge with the confidence to re-engage at school and lead better lives. Programs focus on practical learning, behavior and goal setting, self-awareness and monitoring, respectful relationships, personal responsibility, health, and wellbeing.
Participants are typically aged between 12-15 years and TRACTION reaches them before they fall through the cracks, helping them rediscover the joy of learning and build their own powerful and positive futures.
TRACTION is seeking financial support to sustain and expand its successful programs to meet the needs of more vulnerable young people. To donate or find out more, visit: https://www.traction.community or follow on Facebook and Instagram @tractionbuilds
